This One Time, At Band Camp...

You know, the people who wrote "American Pie" are frickin' idiots, because band camp isn't an actual camp. It's just the name for the period in late summer when marching bands rehearse for hours at a time to get ready for the coming year. There's no camping involved. Of course, considering how mind-bogglingly stupid the rest of that movie was, I'm not surprised nobody caught the mistake.

Anyway, there is a point to this post. This afternoon, I'm heading back up to Syracuse University for band camp. I'm hoping to play snare drum this year, as I've mentioned. To tell you the truth, I've been looking forward to this since June. Pennsylvania seems to be sucking away my life force or something. I have to get out of this state NOW.

Unfortunately, I won't have access to a computer until Tuesday the 24th, and even then, I'll be at band camp for 12 hours a day, so serious blogging is pretty much out of the question. Do you know what that means?

Yeah. There will be no new posts until at least Tuesday, and that will probably just be a brief update. Band camp ends on the morning of Friday, August 27, so that's when regular blogging will resume. However, classes start on the 30th, so that'll be occupying my time as well. We'll see what happens.

Until then, consider this an open thread. I'm going to be away for almost a week, so I'd better see some discussion when I get back. Dang it.
