I Love College

So...I got invited to a strip club today. Yeah. We had a break from band camp in the afternoon, and I was lying on the football field in the Carrier Dome taking a "turf nap," as we call it, when the following exchange took place between me and a fellow snare drummer named RJ:

RJ: Hey Chris, you're 18, right?

CD: I'm 19.

RJ: Great! You wanna go see some boobies tonight?

CD: Um...no thanks.

RJ: Oh. Okay.

Seriously, a bunch of band guys are going to a strip club later. That's...messed up. I did turn them down though, as you saw. Let's get one thing straight: I'm not above dedicating entire blog posts to ogling President Bush's daughters, but visual prostitution is where I draw the friggin' line, people. What a waste.

In other college news, I got to see the new SU chancellor, Nancy Cantor, up close and personal tonight. She's a lot shorter than I thought. Not very intimidating at all, really. However, if you know anything about this woman, you know that she has a history of bowing down before the altar of political correctness. If you're not familiar with her, I'll help you get started.

I'm afraid that she's going to move Syracuse University a lot further to the left than it needs to be. I take pride in the fact that this is one of the more conservative liberal universities in the country (although it definitely is liberal). That could all change really soon.

Oh, well. Me and my roommate will make sure the VRWC has a voice. I'll have more on those plans when he gets here tomorrow or Saturday. That should be fun.

At least they asked if you were 18...

Chancellor Shaw never had a huge effect on university policies. It's the Vice-Chancellor who really runs things, along with the deans of each college. The Chancellor is basically a fund-raiser.

Wow. I thought I was the only straight male in America who had never been to, and has no desire to go to, a strip club. I am perfectly capable of appreciating a beuatiful woman who is fully clothed. Thank you.
