New Rules

This whole back and forth fisking I just did got me thinking, and I've decided to introduce some basic rules of argumentation to Semi-Intelligent Thoughts.

We've all heard of Godwin's Law, right? The first person to compare someone to Hitler loses the argument, or something like that. Well, in order to counter liberal ignorance, I'm introducing 3 rules for arguing on or with this blog that should make debate a bit smoother:

1. If you claim that President Bush called Saddam Hussein an "imminent threat," you lose approximately 50% of your total credibility. That means you can do it twice before you lose the argument.

2. If you claim that President Bush blamed Saddam Hussein for the September 11 terrorist attacks, you lose the argument.

3. If you make a reference to President Bush's many lies, and then when asked to give an example, you say something like "There are too many, so I don't even know where to start," I will assume that you can't come up with one.

Hopefully, these rules will make the experience better for everybody.

I. Maybe prez. Bush didn't utter the words "saddam is an imminent threat" in public, but his administration has repeatedly claimed that iraq was a grave threat that should be handled sooner than later.

II. Again, neither he nor anyone in his admin. has directly claimed that saddam is responsible for 9/11, but their heavy insinuations and innuendos
has led many americans to believe that it is so.

III. "Ahmed who? Chalabi? Oh, maybe I met him once or twice, but so briefly I hardly remember"

what prize for me?

I. There is a difference between "imminent threat" and what his admin. said. They meant that we had to act before it became an imminent threat, just like Bush said.

II. Your interpretation of what Bush said doesn't count as Bush actually saying it.

III. Comedy Central is not a source. Grow up.

Oh, and because of the fake e-mail address, you're now banned. Thanks for playing.
