I've wanted to try something for a really long time. It might as well be now.
I'm going to do a psychological experiment in this post that will allow me to exercise actual physical control over anyone reading it. Scary, isn't it? All you have to do to participate is read the next paragraph, then click the extended entry and answer the question there. Let's begin:
It's common knowledge that breathing is an involuntary action. You don't have to consciously control your breathing patterns or even really think about them, because your brain does it for you. However, if you actually concentrate on your breathing, pretty soon, you'll be doing it voluntarily, and your brain won't start breathing for you again until you think about something else.
Okay, that's the reading. Click the extended entry for the question:
Q: Are you, at this very moment, consciously controlling your breathing? If you are, it means I affected you physically across the Internet.
BWAHAHA!
...Sorry. I've been dying to try this for months.
