Y'all didn't get enough "bring it" last year?

Just kidding. Should be a great series. Wings in four. Okay, five.

That was the Therrien edition of the Pens. Bylsma won't let them sit back in the neutral zone for ten minutes and wait for the Wings to make a mistake.

Speaking of the Wings, I believe they still have some young whippersnappers from Obamatown to deal with. Nothing is guaranteed, as the Capitals found out.

Wings: 6
Whippersnappers: 1
Where: Obamatown
Location of tonight's game: Hockeytown

Shouldn't be a problem.

Hey, you know Pittsburgers better than me, are y'all violent? Are the fans at Mellon gonna throw bricks at Hossa, or do y'all think you never needed him?

And something just occured to me- Hossa went to the Wings 'cuz he wanted to win the Cup. I think he made the right choice, and I think he will... but even I'll be able to see the sweet, sickly irony if the Pens win without him.

Especially if it's Game Six at the Mellon. Ha ha.

Argh! What am I saying? CD, have you brainwashed me? Wings in four, punk!!!

Oh, and I've never tried my hand at Photoshop, but if you'd like, I'll find a picture of Sid the Kid with his arms up and superimpose the Cup on top.

By the way:

It's.

F%#&*@!

Oh yeah.

It occurred to me hours after writing my last comment that "Barackytown" would've been funnier than "Obamatown." I guess it's irrelevant now.

Anyway, regarding Pittsburgh fans, they'll just boo Hossa a lot like they did in February, but he should make it out alive (although hopefully very disappointed in himself and his decision-making skills). I was at game four of last year's SCF (the one that Hudler ruined), and the worst things I saw from fellow fans were a drunk guy making vague threats of violence to a guy wearing a Wings jersey and some dude saying "Detroit sucks" to another Wings fan in the parking lot on the way out. We try to uphold our reputation of supporting our own team rather than attacking our opponent like fans of a certain other Pennsylvania team.

On a related note that I don't think I've mentioned before, I sat next to a couple of Wings fans at that game, and they apparently were friends of Dan Cleary who had come down from Newfoundland to watch the game. Kind of interesting.

In any case, this should be a completely different series. Every active Penguin except Matt Cooke, Mark Eaton, and Mathieu Garon has been here before, Sid and Geno already have more points than any player in last year's playoffs, and the USS Hal Gill will sink Holmstrom if he tries to crash the net.

Pens in 7. Crosby with the Cup-winning goal (which just happens to be a deflection off Hossa's skate).

WOOOOOOOO!

BAM!!! And there's three games left in the playoffs.

Okay, four. We'll give the Pens Thursday's game so the Wings can skate the Cup at the Joe.

To be fair, each team actually scored one goal. If this game was in Pittsburgh, those two weird bounces wouldn't happen. In any case, Pens lost game 1 in '91. History is still on our side.

Also, serious question: Do Detroit fans actually enjoy hockey, or do they just enjoy seeing the Red Wings win? I swear that team sucks all the fun out of games once they have a lead. At least the losses to Washington were exciting.
